I recently did some graphic design work for the Plant Meet & Eat festival in Cloverdale. Just because you are getting paid to do something a little more commercial doesn’t mean you can’t hang onto your fundamental aesthetics. As a sideline to the design work for the Community Centre, I got them onto a bit of Guerilla Advertising using stencils and temporary line marking spraypaint.
I also ran an art making workshop with the kids on the day with David Dellafiora
By the way if you missed the festival it had a green focus, free sustainable goods to take home as well as native plants and heaps of free food and drink. It happens once a year so look it up and head down there next year for a fun day!

Well, I was pretty excited recently when I picked up a copy of Imprint, an Australian printmaking magazine to find an advert for the exihition The Silent Scream, the political and social comment in books by artists exhibition that I have a few zines in later this year. It’s kinda humbling to see your name in the company of Norman Lindsay, George Grosz and Gerhard Richter to name just a few.
So if your in Melbourne between the 26th September and 25th November …and artist’s books with social comments are your thing, get on over to the Sir Louis Matheson Library at the clayton campus of Monash University to have a look at the exhibition.
