Well April has come and gone in no time. But it has been a fairly productive month.

The Game of Kings project that I was involved in a few years back, conceived by Simon Sherry and written by Danny Nolan has finally made it into book form. Below are some pictures of the book and the pages with my artwork. It is a beautiful book with tons of awesome artists involved as well as some stunning artwork for those into the fantasy art genre.

The book is available here: Game of Kings book

While I am on books, Altered State the artists book that I spent much of last year coordinating has been finished and I have started to get the books out to those who took part(Some still to come!). It has taken me a while to get a few photos together. But here are a few and i’m sure you would agree that the final book was stunning with about thirty artists producing editions of 50 pages each…all hand altered! So each book becomes a beautiful one off artwork in essence. This project was an exchange project so no books are available for sale. A big thanks to David Dellafiora for helping to realize this project!

Artists pages displayed above include: 7U?, Luke Cornish(E.L.K.), Rona Green, Anthony Lister & Regan Tamanui(HaHa).

In other news I have been busy working on a new series of paintings after my short break and have about a dozen new works done which I will reveal a little further down the track. On another tangent one of my works has been shortlisted as a finalist for the 150th Queenscliffe Anniversary Art Prize. It made the cut from over two hundred entries which is always a nice feeling!

Well today I enjoyed a sunny Sunday up at Abbotsford Convent in Melbourne. I had a print in the exhibition ‘Beautiful Soup’ coordinated by Rona Green which opened today at the St. Heliers Gallery onsite. The show got an excellent turn out and a bunch of work sold at the opening…including my print. woot!

If you haven’t been to Abbotsford Convent before it is well worth the visit with several cool little eateries, a few galleries, open artist’s studios and often there are markets, short courses and a range of other activities to do. The venue gets a really descent turn out of punters on a beautiful day like today so get there early.

Below are a couple of shots from today…

And below is my ‘Life is a Rodeo’ print in the foreground

And in other news my catalogues for my upcoming solo show ‘Only dead fish go with the flow‘ in November at Boom Gallery have just arrived back from the printers and look sweet (Below). I will give you more details about this exhibition a bit closer to time but keep Friday 9th of November free as that will be the opening night. It’s going to be huge!

I have also finished compiling the Altered State Assemblage book that I embarked on last year involving about 30 Australian Artists. I bound the edition last week over my holidays with the help of David Dellafiora. So those involved in this project keep your eyes peeled as they will start to be distributed soon. I won’t say any more than this as I will dedicate a post to this book when a get a few photographs done. But I can comfortably say the book looks amazing.

Hope life is treating you well.

Enjoy!
